Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
Wandering Barman is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility, and the benchmark used to assess compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for web content.
Measures we have taken
Keyboard navigation
All interactive elements — navigation links, buttons, and form fields — can be reached and activated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
A hidden skip link appears when keyboard focus reaches the top of the page, allowing users to bypass repeated navigation and jump directly to the main content.
Visible focus indicators
A clear, high-contrast focus ring is displayed on all interactive elements when navigated via keyboard, so users always know where they are on the page.
Screen reader support
Pages use semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), logical heading hierarchies (h1–h3), and ARIA attributes where needed. Form fields are properly labelled and linked to their inputs so screen readers announce them correctly.
Form accessibility
All form labels are programmatically associated with their inputs. Required fields are communicated to assistive technology, not just indicated by colour. Success and error messages are announced automatically via ARIA live regions.
Alternative text
Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text. Purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology using aria-hidden.
Colour contrast
All text colours meet WCAG AA contrast ratios — at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text — against their backgrounds, including small secondary labels and footer text.
Reduced motion
Animated elements — including the marquee strip and cocktail pour animation — are paused or disabled for users who have enabled the 'Reduce Motion' setting in their operating system.
Responsive design
The site works at all viewport sizes and supports browser text zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
Language
The page language is declared in the HTML element (lang="en") so screen readers use the correct voice and pronunciation engine.
Known limitations
The store locator widget is provided by a third-party service (StoreRocket). We have applied comprehensive dark-mode, contrast, and usability CSS overrides to bring the widget in line with the rest of the site. Some deeply nested interactive elements within the widget may still not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA due to styles injected by the third-party script that cannot be overridden. We continue to monitor this and will apply additional overrides as needed.
